Homeland (supermarket)

Homeland is a supermarket chain in the United States. Homeland is currently headquartered in Edmond, Oklahoma. As of 2007, it operates around 50 supermarkets in Oklahoma and Kansas. Many Homeland supermarkets also include a pharmacy.

History

The company was formerly the Oklahoma division of Safeway, and it was spun off from Safeway in 1987. Homeland filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2002, at which point it was bought by and became a subsidiary of Associated Wholesale Grocers. The supermarkets still operate under the "Homeland" name.
