Archaic Revival

Archaic Revival

Archaic Revival are a Canadian post-rock, classical and electronic collaboration based in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Formed in 1998, the ensemble has been quite influential. Working on a near orchestral scale, the two have been known to create wide dynamic ranges-utilising classical instrumentation. Archaic Revival are currently in the studio working on their new album, expected to be released in 2008.

About the band

Archaic Revival are most commonly classified as classical, but they exist outside any established scene and take influences from a range of styles including electronic, punk, blues, rock music and avant-garde. Composing, producing and playing each song unique to one another they are respected for their diversity.

"Submission by Archaic Revival is a thoughtful and compassionate composition, sweetly taking one through a multitude of emotions and feelings. A musically diverse album that at times can be relaxing background music, or upbeat feel-good tunes. There seems to be a story to tell with few words to express it; instruments do the talking, especially in the song ECHO. Even though ECHO is a short song it still has strong emotion that it speaks too.~Matt Scott
