Nicoleni (in Romanian) or Székelyszentmiklós (in Hungarian) is a village in
Harghita County ,Romania . It belongs to the commune ofŞimoneşti .History
The village, populated by Unitarian Hungarians, is first mentioned in the tithe list (tizedjegyzek) of 1332 and belonged to the Unitarian part of
Udvarhely . The original church was destroyed at the beginning of the 19th century, and the new church was built in a different place in the centre of the village.
