Phil Maymin is an [http://www.poly.edu/faculty/philmaymin Assistant Professor of Finance and Risk Engineering] at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University. He was the 2006 Libertarian candidate for U.S. House of Representatives from Connecticut's 4th congressional district. He was born in 1975 in Moscow, Russia.

Education

Maymin graduated from Harvard University in 1997 where he earned a B.A. in computer science and an M.S. in applied mathematics in 3 and a half years.

Political career

2006 congressional campaign

In 2006, Phil Maymin ran as the Libertarian candidate against incumbent Republican Representative Christopher Shays and two-time Democratic challenger Diane Farrell. The three of them debated each other seven times (YouTube [http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=maymin highlights] ).

Maymin was the subject of hundreds of newspaper articles and had dozens of radio appearances, including national ones on XM Satellite Radio. [Maymin for Congress.
