Sussie 4 is an electronic music duet from Guadalajara, Mexico, formed in 1998 under the electronic music scene, mainly in the house music style.

History

Sussie 4 was formed in the summer of 1998 in Guadalajara, Mexico by music producer César Gudiño (keyboards, synths, program systems) and multi-instrumentalist Odín Parada (guitar, percussions, voice). When they met, they began experimenting in the "mestizaje" (a Spanish word used to refer to a mix between Indigenous and European cultures) of an organic/electronic fusion of music. With strong influences in French House, which later came to define their more characteristic aesthetic silhouette, their sound very elegantly mixes Latin rhythms with jazz and pop in avant-garde ways, complemented with known, and yet to become known, voices.

Acid Cabaret, Paris Cuba, Electro Song, and other categories and even complete phrases could not describe entirely the eclectic offer that Sussie 4 delivers uniquely, however, the term which best defines their sound is the one that gives title to their debut album "Música Moderna" released in 2002 by Nopal Beat/EMI. Although this classification could come from distant, not up-to-date generations, the combination of both words, literally "Modern Music", could not be more adequate. It is in fact Music, and it is in fact Modern, the rest is universal, or in other words, simply goes beyond.

"Música Moderna" was first simultaneously released in Mexico and France, followed by the United States. Its tracks have been featured in a number of popular compilations of the genre and have become WIDELY known in the electronic music scene throughout Australia, Japan, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, and other countries worldwide.

A duo in essence, and a quartet in presence, Sussie 4 represents creation in constant activity, which has achieved an almost instant recognition status. A single album has brought them an unmistakable distinction seal and with that a kaleidoscope of possibilities and opportunities. They have been awarded as "Best Alternative Artist" in 2003 by the US-American zine Banda Elástica. Their energetic and highly disciplined live presentations and tours, which currently successfully conjure electronic instruments, with organically unified percussions of voice, guitar and electric bass, have brought them together with acts such as Gus Gus, Bentley Rhythm Ace, Sven Väth, Deep Dish, Dj Hell, Buscemi. Including collaborative presentations at festivals such as Techno Geist, Vive Latino Union Fest y Playa MTV in Mexico, Rock al Parque in Colombia and Espárragos in Spain.

In this short period Sussie 4 has become an obligatory reference in the Mexican electronic music scene. Many have described their sound as unique, genius, and uniquely rhythmic, making it very distinguishable from the traditional unvariable beats of house music. Sussie 4 has been awarded "Best Live Act" in the DJ and Clubbing categories and has been nominated "Best Electronic Live Act" in the DJ electronic scene.

In 2006 they released their second album called "Red Album", featuring well known rock and pop stars, mainly from Mexico's more sophisticated modern rock and pop acts, such as Denisse Guerrero of Belanova, Alex Sergi of Miranda!, León Larregui of Zoé, Valentina González and Ely Guerra.
