Sattar was one of the six siblings born into a Russian father (a Baku immigrant) and an Iranian mother. His fame began at the age of 22 with the release of the theme song Khaneh Bedush for
Morad Barghi , a popular television show inIran . The show made him an instant star. His next hit came with the TV series "Ghesseye Eshq"" made by Mansour Poormand. Young, handsome and talented, he soon became a pop icon. His signature song is "Hamsafar". With over 35 years of fame, Sattar has over 70 hits which includes internationally known song of "Gol-e Sangam". Among other hit songs are "Shazdeh Khanoom", "Gol-e Pooneh", [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fe6l4ir0-I0 "Aakharin Talash"] , "Kashki Shah Boodam", "Khaki" and many more.Sattar has recorded over 270 songs and is among very few Persian singers who performs Persian Traditional or Classic music properly.
According to a scientific study of Persian music by a group of academicians from Liszt Music Academy, Trinity Music School, IFSI - Department of contemporary studies in Europe and The New Mexico Music Center in the US in 2004 - 2005, Sattar was emulated and short listed for having the 'Best Melodic Voice' in Persian pop music that eventually earned him an Honorary Doctorate in Music by IFSI Institute in European Union in 2004 as well as other awards on its following years.
As for his traditional/classic performance skills, he is recognized among the top five male master artists of contemporary Persian traditional/classic music, namely: Golpa, Iraj, Shajarian, Sattar and Hooshmand Aghili. According to the other four named masters, Sattar has been always accurate and up to the point in his classic performances. Among his classic records we can name the album "In Memo of Darius Rafee".
Sattar is a Persian Academy Award winner who gained two Persian Golden Lioness Awards conferred by the World Academy of Arts, Literature and Media - WAALM in 2005.
Having over 100 million fans around the world he performs at Persian festivals and concerts worldwide.
