- Šargan Eight
The Šargan Eight ( _sr. Шарганска осмица) is a narrow gauge
heritage railway inSerbia , running from thevillage ofMokra Gora toŠargan Vitasi station. An extension toVišegrad in theRepublika Srpska is under construction.The railway with a gauge of 760 mm (2 ft 6 in) was an important part of the former narrow gauge main line from
Sarajevo toBelgrade and closed in1974 . Between1999 and2003 the section over the Šargan pass was rebuilt by the Serbian Ministry of Tourism and the Yugoslavian states railway JŽ, now the Serbian railways,Železnice Srbije .External links
