However, the following 2007-08 started poorly from the getgo as Red Star team managed to make it out of the Champions League 2nd qualifying round with a lot of difficulties, beating Levadia in Belgrade 1:0 and losing inTalin 1:2. Đurovski was sacked after that game by club presidentDragan Stojković , and was replaced byMilorad Kosanović .
