- CD49a
CD49a is an
integrin alpha subunit. It makes up half of the α1β1 integrin duplex.PBB_Summary
section_title =
summary_text = This gene encodes the alpha 1 subunit of integrin receptors. This protein heterodimerizes with the beta 1 subunit to form a cell-surface receptor for collagen and laminin. The heterodimeric receptor is involved in cell-cell adhesion and may play a role in inflammation and fibrosis. The alpha 1 subunit contains an inserted (I) von Willebrand factor type I domain which is thought to be involved in collagen binding.cite web | title = Entrez Gene: ITGA1 integrin, alpha 1| url = http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=3672| accessdate = ]References
