Mihira is an ancient Indian word meaning "Sun".

  • It is another name for the Indo-Iranian sun god Mithra.
  • It is another name for the Indian astronomer Varahamihira.
  • It is part of the name of the Huna king Mihirakula.
  • This is used as honorable title for Gurjar (or Gujjar) community e.g. emperor Mihir bhoj.
  • It is part of the name of the Gurjar Pratihar king Mihira bhoja.
