Alma Birk

Alma Birk, Baroness Birk (22 September 1917 - 29 December 1996) was a British Government minister. She was born Alma Lillian Wilson; her husband was Ellis Birk. She had two children.

* Baroness in Waiting, March-October 1974
* Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, DoE, 1974-79
* Minister of State, Privy Council Office, 1979
* Opposition frontbench spokesman, House of Lords, on: environment, 1979-86; arts, libraries, heritage and broadcasting, 1986-93

She was Chairman of Redbridge Jewish Youth Centre, 1970-96 and on the Executive of the Council of Christians and Jews, 1971-77.
