- Vambel
Vаmbel was a small village on the northwest part of
Greece (formerAegean Macedonia ) near Greek-Albanian border, about 50 kilometars west from city ofKostur . It was heavily destroyed in theGreek civil war (1946-1949). Its population in the beginning of the 20th century was about 706 citizens and 113 houses with Macedonian settlements. After the war most of its citizens took refuge in theRepublic of Macedonia andSlav ic-speaking countries (Russia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia)
