Truliant Federal Credit Union or Truliant was founded in 1952 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to serve the employees of Western Electric. First known as Radio Shops Credit Union, it later became known as AT&T Family Federal Credit Union. In 1999, they changed their name to Truliant Federal Credit Union to more accurately represent their broad-based membership. Truliant now serves over 180,000 member-owners from various communities, along with those from more than 850 businesses and organizations. Today Truliant has grown to 24 locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Ohio, by embracing the philosophy of "people helping people".

Like all credit unions, Truliant is a not-for-profit financial institution that provides individuals and small businesses with a full range of convenient and innovative products and services, including checking accounts, online banking, certificates and business, auto and home loans. Member-owners of Truliant enjoy the benefits of a financial institution that traditionally charges lower fees, pays higher dividends on savings and has lower interest rates on loans than other financial institutions.

Truliant is insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and is an equal housing lender.
