Kile is a TeX/LaTeX editor providing a user friendly environment to edit TeX/LaTeX source code. It runs on Unix-like systems including Mac OS X and Linux with the KDE desktop environment.

Name

"Kile" means "tickle" in Norwegian, the native language of some of the Qt developers.Fact|date=May 2008
