Éver Banega (born June 29, 1988 in Rosario, Santa Fe) is an Argentine professional footballer currently playing for Atlético de Madrid for the 2008/2009 season. He is on loan for the season from Valencia. Club career

Boca Juniors

Banega came through the youth ranks at Boca Juniors and it was not until he moved to the first team that he won international recognition, thanks to his passing average and his performances in the local league. Valencia

On January 5, 2008, Banega signed with Spanish side Valencia on a five and a half year deal, for a fee of around €18m. Atlético de Madrid

For the 2008-2009 season, Banega is on loan and playing for Atlético de Madrid. He made his official debut as a substitute during Atlético's victory over PSV Eindhoven during the first group stage match of the 2008-2009 Champions League.

International career

Banega helped the Argentina national under-20 football team win the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada.
