Biography

Early life

After deferring her law degree she joined the local radio station 6GE and trained as a production assistant and copy writer in her home town, getting her first taste of the show-business industry. She was accepted into the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) but dropped out after 2 years because she was unsure about where she was heading.

Acting

She joined a small Sydney theatre' which led to guest appearances on "Blue Heelers", "Home and Away" and "Echo Point". In 1996 she auditioned for, and won the part of "Dash McKinley" in "Blue Heelers" - her character was introduced halfway through Season 3, after "Wayne Patterson" was killed. In the same year she made her film debut in "Fistful of Flies".

To win the role of "Dash McKinley", Tasma had to audition three times. It was the second one with William McInnes ("Nick Schultz") that swung it for her. In the audition Schultz yelled at Dash and while some of the other actresses burst into tears, Tasma reacted by having a hearty good laugh!

Tasma filmed her last episodes of "Blue Heelers" in April 1999 and her final episode was called "The Full Circle", screened in mid 1999. Tasma stated that she was leaving the series to pursue other acting projects and to be with her boyfriend, Danny Roberts in Sydney. She has since made a guest appearance in "Water Rats" as well as taking roles in a number of film projects.
