Harold Rosen

Harold A. Rosen (born 1926 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an electrical engineer, known for designing and directing the construction of the first geosynchronous communications satellite, Syncom, for Hughes Aircraft Company.

Rosen graduated from Tulane University in 1947 with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electrical engineering. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 1948 and 1951, respectively.

Rosen received the IEEE Alexander Graham Bell Medal in 1982, and the Charles Stark Draper Prize in 1995.
