Prva banka Crne Gore AD - Osnovana 1901 is a Montenegrin bank. Formerly known as Nikšićka banka AD, the bank was renamed in March 2007 following a takeover the previous autumn by Monte Nova, a company owned by Aco Đukanović. Prva banka CG assumed continuity from a bank, existing under various forms of ownership, that was founded in 1901.
The bank has many personal and business ties to the Montenegrin government. Đukanović, who owns 30% of the bank and is its biggest stakeholder, is the brother of Milo Đukanović—longtime Montenegrin Prime Minister and current ruling DPS party president. The bank's new managing board also includes Vuk Rajović, Milo Đukanović's close associate; Goran "Sito" Rakočević, formerly a cabinet minister in Đukanović's government and currently a foreign policy adviser to Montenegrin president Filip Vujanović; and Radmila Vojvodić. former head of the council governing Montenegrin state TV.
In mid-August 2007, Capital Invest, a company owned by Milo Đukanović, bought a 7% stake in the bank for €1.5 million.[1] Also investing in the bank at that time was Ana Kolarević, Aco and Milo Đukanović's sister; she owns about 1% of the bank (worth €240,000).
In late October 2007, Moninvest—a Budva-based company co-owned by Svetozar Marović, another prominent member of Montenegrin regime—bought 2.2% stake in the bank for €500,000.
