L. Jean Lewis

L. Jean Lewis

L. Jean Lewis is the current chief of staff of the Pentagon Inspector General in the United States government. Prior to this she made headlines September 1992, when she worked for George H.W. Bush's administration and wrote an FBI referral prior to the 1992 election concerning Bill Clinton's lost investment in Whitewater." Subsequently, she later appeared before the Senate Whitewater Committee, "where she lied repeatedly before 'fainting' under examination by the Democratic counsel." On February 26, 2004 she again attracted attention when her office was supposed to look into Halliburton contracts. Consequently, "groups say they need more scrutiny of Halliburton because the Pentagon official in charge of the investigation, L. Jean Lewis, is known as a highly partisan Republican activist."
