Cadastral divisions of Western Australia

Cadastral divisions of Western Australia

The Cadastral divisions of Western Australia refer to the subdivisions in Western Australia of land divisions, land districts, and counties, which were divided in the nineteenth century for cadastral purposes. They are part of the cadastral divisions of Australia.

Land divisions

There are six land divisions in Western Australia. The Rabbit-proof fence is on the border line between the North West and South West divisions on the western side, and the others on the eastern side.

The divisions were altered c.1900; previously there had been six somewhat different divisions; [http://nla.gov.au/nla.map-t1196 this 1893 map] shows a Gascoyne Division, but no Central Division. The same divisions are shown on: [http://nla.gov.au/nla.map-nk5920] , [http://www.nla.gov.au/apps/cdview?pi=nla.map-rm3700-s1-v]

Land districts

In 1909, none of the land districts were located wholly in the Eastern Division, which was made up of mostly desert regions. (Pardu District was located in part of it). The land districts are further subdivided into locations and lots.
