The school follows the standard elementary curriculum of the Department of Education (Philippines) together with the other local schools accredited by DepEd. The school has a pool of competitive teachers whose devotion to duty is beyond compare. Some of its faculty spend their weekends in school for a more rigid academic training to persevered students.

Facilities

The school is famous within the Division for its good classrooms honed through student's donations. The school has a computer laboratory donated by the General Santos City government under their program SHEEP. The school also has a covered court for school activities, a big open ground for sports activities and a library to supplement the needs of the students. A cooperative canteen is also available inside the campus which serves snacks and meals to the students.

In school year 1986-1987, upon the return of the National Quiz Bee, a 6th grade student of the Dad. West Elementary School bagged the National Championship Trophy in the Science category. His name is Mark Gil Dela Cruz, who went on to study at the Philippine Science High School, in Diliman, Quezon City. He was mentored by Violeta Adoracion, a topnotch educator.
