butterfly in the familyPapilionidae . It has a wingspan of between 180 and 230 millimeters (7 to 9 inches) and is the largest butterfly in Africa. Papilio antimachus live in thetropical rain forests of Central Africa. The distribution area (range) stretches fromAngola ,Cameroon ,Democratic Republic of Congo ,Republic of the Congo ,Gabon ,Ghana ,Ivory Coast ,Liberia ,Nigeria ,Sierra Leone ,Uganda andZaïre . The male is larger than the female and can often be seen in groups at nectar.The females show themselves less, continually flying high above the tree tops. The butterfly has no natural enemies because it is very toxic, perhaps the most toxic of all butterflies.
