Classic Rock From A to Z
About two or three times a year, the Whale plays their entire music library in alphabetical order by title. Now it is known as "Classic Rock from A to Z on Demand" because listeners can submit songs (on the Whale's [http://www.991thewhale.com/Article.asp?id=610893 website] ) to be added to the music library. Beginning on April 8, 2008, they started it again. It usually takes about 8 to 9 days to play every one of their songs.
History
In the early 1970s, it was playing a progressive rock format. In the mid 1970's WAAL was known as WAAL Stereo FM 99. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, it was known as The Hot FM, which played Top 40. WAAL was acquired by
Citadel Broadcasting in 1998 fromWicks Broadcast Group .External links
