A. Wade Kach is a member of the
Maryland House of Delegates representing District 5B, which is part ofBaltimore County, MD . He won 98.9% of the vote in 2006 while running unopposed. Kirsh and Independent William T. Newton with 71.2% of the vote in the new 5B District. Kach attended public schools in Baltimore City. He began college at
Towson State College beforing settling atWestern Maryland College where he received his B.A. in 1970.Career
Kach started his career as a teacher in Baltimore County Public Schools. Almost immediately he began to work for his Republican principles by becoming chair of the Maryland Federation of College Republicans in 1970.
He was a member of the Republican State Central Committee in
Baltimore City from 1970-73. He was first elected as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates in 1975. Since then, he was elected as a delegate to the Republican Party National Convention in 1988 and 2000.Kach has also been active in his community. He is a member of the Timonium Optimists, the North Baltimore County Republican and Civic Organization, and the Ashland Community Organization.
As an employee with Baltimore County Public Schools, he was a member of the Teachers Association of Baltimore County, and by virtue of being an employee of Baltimore County Public Schools he was required to be a member of the liberal Maryland State Teachers Association and National Education Association.
Kach is also a past member
Parents Anonymous of Maryland, the Reisterstown-Owings Mills-Glyndon Coordinating Council, and the Reisterstown-Owings Mills-Glyndon Chamber of Commerce.He has received many honors including an award from the Maryland Society of Accountants in 1999 and the
Casper R. Taylor, Jr. , Founder's Award, from the House of Delegates in 2006.Legislative notes
