Zhang Zhen Hong (Chinese : 張禛宏; Pinyin: Zhāng Zhēnhóng) is an upcoming Malaysian Chinese singer.

Biography

Zhang started singing at a very young age. It all started at a singing contest organised by a Hakka association in Kuala Lumpur. He was eight and it was his first singing competition. While most of the contestants sang Hakka numbers and high spirited Mandarin songs, he attempted a popular Hong Kong TV love drama theme song called "Mun Sui Qin San Zhong Xi Qing." The audience were clearly amused to watch this 8-year old sing a Cantonese love song which he obviously did not have a clue what it is about. They laughed initially but soon quieted down when they realised that this young pretender was a serious competitor. He went on to win second place in that competition. Since then he developed a strong interest in singing.

Challenges

Being born in a typical Malaysian family, his family has placed high expectations on him. To grow up being a doctor, an engineer, a lawyer, an accountant or a businessman is something all parents want their child to be. So it is not a surprise that he is actually a qualified lawyer with a day job. He is serious with his work but also holds on to his passion dearly. He went through years of waiting, disappointments and diaphragm torturing just to produce an EP. He is now finally living his dreams of producing his own work.

First EP

His first EP "(Sou Hou)" contains 5 songs in Mandarin:
