Bob Segarini (born
August 28 ,1945 in Stockton, California) is a recording artist, singer, song writer and composer. He gained popularity in Canadian rock music scene. His earliest band, "The Ratz" was a local Los Angeles group withGary Duncan , who later formedQuicksilver Messenger Service . Segarini next started "Family Tree" with guitarist and keyboardist Jimmy De Cocq, singer Michael Dure, drummer Van Slatter and bassist Bill "Kootch" Trochim. They only released one album, "Miss Butters". Next Segarini formed "Roxy" with De Cocq and Randy Bishop playing bass and vocals. The group signed withElektra Records in 1969, but after one album, producerGary Usher reorganised the band adding drummerSpencer Earnshaw and former guitarist from Family Tree, Mike Stull and bassist Bill 'Kootch' Trochim. The new group released three albums asThe Wackers , "Wackering Heights", "Hot Wacks" and "Shredder".Segarini together with Randy Bishop, co-wrote and recorded two songs for the film
Vanishing Point (1971), "Dear Jesus God" and "Over Me". He has also worked with UK songstressElkie Brooks .In 1975 Segarini founded The Dudes, with Brian Greenway, and Ritchie and David Henman. They recorded one album, "We're No Angels", before breaking up.
Segarini went on to a solo career, recording four albums: "Gotta Have Pop", "On The Radio", "Goodbye L.A.", and "Vox Populi". The first three have recently been remastered and re-issued with bonus tracks by
Bullseye Records .During the mid 1980's, Segarini began his career in the radio industry, first with
1050 CHUM , followed by several stints at Classic Rock radio stationCILQ - known to Toronto locals as Q107. It was there that he adopted the moniker "The Iceman" - a name he still uses on the air to this day.Bob is currently living in
Toronto , Ontario Canada where he is the voice behind "Iceberg Radio" heard onsirius Satellite radio channel 95.External links
