Guarenas / Guatire Metro

Guarenas / Guatire Metro is a dual subway / light rail system project to connect the twin cities and intermediate communities to Caracas, Venezuela.

The 2 billion dollar project aimed to accommodate 125,000 daily users consists of 2 distinct parts the urban subway line and suburban light train line. Construction started on March 18, 2007 with a planned completion projected for late July 2012.

The km to mi|6.7|precision=1|abbr=yes urban line will start from the Caracas Metro Parque del Este II station and end at the Guaraira Repano (Petare Norte) station, while the km to mi|31.4|precision=1|abbr=yes suburban line will start from the Guaraira Repano station and end at the Guatire II station with future extensions already in the planning stage.
