Foothill Elementary School is an elementary school located in Saratoga, California. Its symbol is the dolphin and their colors are blue and white. The school is part of the Saratoga Union School District (along with Argonaut Elementary School, Saratoga Elementary School, and Redwood Middle School).
Campus
Foothill has two playgrounds in the "middle" of the school. It has an upper concrete playground and a lower playground. These two playgrounds are equipped with slides, a baseball diamond, and swings, which went under renovations in the early 2000s. There is also a separate area for kindergarteners to play outside of their classrooms in a fenced-in area, aproxamately twice the size of the two kindergarten classrooms collectively. Foothill's halls are exterior halls that have many water fountains.
Assemblies
On Fridays, assemblies are held in the multipurpose room, the principal and teachers make announcements while students listen.At the end, each grade gives a grade chant to show their school spirit.
Classes
Foothill's classes are held with several classes per grade with most subjects taught by a single teacher in one classroom. Besides academics, Foothill has other classes like Music and Computers. There is also a library in which students are allowed to check out books for research or just pleasure. There are also school activities such as school plays, choir or band (Argonaut).
