Al Hajaj Tribe consists of a number of subclans and they have a region in Al Baitha region of Yemen named after them (Hajaj). And the region next to Hajaj is known as
Al Riyashia . Al Riyashia is a region that contains subclans that originally come fromHadthramout . Both regions were under the command of Al-Sultan Amr Abd al-Wahab. Al-Sultan Amr Abdul Wahab came from the house of Banu Taher. Sultan Amr Abdul Wahab lived is a village called Al-Maqrana, and this village was made the capital of Kingdom in which TheHouse of Khutheer also originated from. However after the Invasion by theImam Ziad forces, the Sultan was disposed. Before he was disposed he had willed for the House of Khutheer lands and farms close to the old capital and so therefore Banu Khutheer moved away frommagrana and named the newly found village after themselves;Al-Khutheeria .However the region that belongs to
Al Hajaj tribe had undergone certain changes in the past couple of hundreds of years.The head of Ahl-Khutheer clan decided that the village of Al Khutheeria should be welcomed to other clans that had recently emigrated, however these clans were not the original Sons of

During the
North Yemen Civil War the Tribe of Hajaj were general in support of theYemen Arab Republic forces, which consisted mainly of tribes from the north of Yemen and their main opposition was the Southern Communist forces. The Hajaj tribe played an important role during the war as sometimes the frontline were made in their lands.
