E. Michael McCann served as the elected
District Attorney ofMilwaukee County inWisconsin for 38 years (1968-2006). He retired frompublic service in January 2007, at which time he joinedMarquette University Law School as a Boden Teaching Fellow andAdjunct Professor ofLaw .One of the more prominent cases that occurred during Mr. McCann's career as District Attorney was the
prosecution of Milwaukee serial slayerJeffrey Dahmer . Mr. McCann also acted to guard worker safety by prosecuting employers for recklessly causing job site deaths of employees in "State of Wisconsin v. S.A. Healy Co". In "State v. Chem Bio Corp"., he securedhomicide convictions against a laboratory for failing to detect incipient cancers which caused the death of two women.McCann is well familiar with
Jesuit education at the secondary (Marquette University High School ), undergraduate (University of Detroit ), and professional school (Georgetown University ) levels. He also earned a Master of Laws (LLM) fromHarvard University and was awarded honorary degrees from Marquette University andMarian College in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
