next_route=25State Route 24 is a 70-mile long route in the northwestern and north-central part of the state. The western terminus of the route is near Red Bay at the
Mississippi state line, where it continues asMississippi Highway 23 . The eastern terminus of the route is at the junction with U.S. Highway 31 at Decatur. The route is one of several segments that comprises Corridor V of theAppalachian Development Highway System . Once completed, Corridor V will provide a continuous route betweenBatesville, Mississippi andChattanooga, Tennessee .Route description
With the advent of Corridor V, much work has been done to improve the quality of SR-24. The route has been re-routed to a new four-lane divided roadway between Russellville and Decatur. The route passes through rural areas of Franklin County until it approaches Russellville. East of Russellville, the route leads towards Moulton and Decatur.
