Stjepan Hauser is a Croatian cellist who has already performed as soloist in the biggest venues in Europe and with many of the major orchestras. He performed in
Croatia ,Slovenia ,Netherlands ,Ireland ,Belgium ,Austria ,Albania ,France ,Italy ,Germany ,Spain , U.S. and theUnited Kingdom , with sensational debutes inWigmore Hall , St. Martin in the Fields andSt John's, Smith Square . Stjepan has collected a total of 19 first national and international prizes, winning twiceMBF Music Education Award 2005 and 2006 inLondon , theFrankopan Award 2006, J & ABeare Prize for Classical Concerto 2007, 1st prize in the Vivian Joseph ClassicalConcerto competition 2007, 1st prize in theLeonard Smith & Felicity Youngcompetition 2007 and 1st prize in the Vera Kantrovich Bach Competition 2007. He is the winner of PO/MMFS Award and as consequence he was invited to perform twice on Gala concerts for H R HPrince Charles inBuckingham Palace andSt. James's Palace . As the last student of MaestroRostropovich , Stjepan has played on four concerts dedicated to him: First one was Gala Concert in Pallazzo Vecchio inFlorence , playingBritten Sonata . Second one was a performance ofShostakovich Cello Concerto No 1 withOrchestra Sinfonica delFriuli Venezia Giulia inTeatro Comunale "Giuseppe Verdi " inItaly . Third one was arecital in Auditorium al Duomo,Florence at prestigious "Maggio Musicale Fiorentino" Festival and finally the fourth one was a performance of Kol Nidrei with Metropolitan Sinfonia on Gala Concert in St GeorgesBristol . Stjepan has impressed the most revered artists such asMstislav Rostropovich ,Heinrich Schiff ,Bernard Greenhouse ,Ralph Kirshbaum , Young-Chang Cho, Karine Georgian, Hyoung-Won Chang, Silvia Sondeckiene, Valter Despalj, Reinhard Latzko, Karloy Botvay, Natalia Pavlutskaya, Alexander Ivashkin,Daniel Weiss ,Ivry Gitlis , Stephen Kovacevich,Rivka Golani to mention a few. Currently he is completing his studies under the guidance of Natalia Pavlutskaya inLondon and is closely guided by MaestroBernard Greenhouse . In October 2006 he was the only cellist chosen to perform in the galaconcert atPalazzo Vecchio ,Florence forMstislav Rostropovich , who was enourmously impressed by this young artist. Following the success of this appearance Stjepan has been invited to perform at the most prestigious festivals and concert venues inEurope . Stjepan has appeared on a documentary film performing for the late russian master, and also on his stunning rendition of Bruch's Kol Nidrei accompanied by Metropolitan Sinfonia, filmed by theBBC . Stjepan Hauser is a member ofThe Greenwich Trio together with theviolinist Lana Trotovsek andpianist Yoko Misumi . Trio was described by legendarycellist Bernard Greenhouse as a new "Beaux Arts Trio ". They are the winners of theSolti Foundation Award 2008. The trio won both the first and the audience prize of theCavatina Chamber Music Competition inLondon , a result that was followed by a series of highly praised concerts all aroundEurope . They are the current holders of the first prize in theTrinity Laban Chamber Music Competition, and of the first and special prizes at the InternationalChamber Music Competition inCandelo ,Italy .The Greenwich Trio receives now regular coaching from legendaryBernard Greenhouse and Stephen Kovacevich, and has received coaching from Deniz Gelenbe, David Kenedy, Martino Tirimo andRivka Golani , and master classes fromBernard Greenhouse (Beaux Arts Trio ), Klaus Maetzl (Alban Berg Quartet ), WihanQuartet ,Israel Piano Trio TheSchubert Ensemble, TheRosamunde Trio , The Arman Trio, William Aide, andIvry Gitlis .
