data1=6Mike Doyle is a
fictional character played byRicky Schroder on the FOX television show "24".Characteristics
Mike Doyle is portrayed as ruthless but also competent as said by Milo. He tends to exceed the scope of his authority as can be seen by the way he barks orders at the techies, who are
Milo Pressman 's subordinates and part of a separate department to Field Ops. He also has a short temper as can be seen when he grabsMorris O'Brian by the throat when he makes a snappish comment.Ricky Schroder says that Mike Doyle is "consumed" by his job and protecting the country. "Everything else in (his) life has been put on hold. He has no personal life. He's ruthless. It doesn't matter who he hurts. It's just a means to an end." [ [http://www.knoxnews.com/kns/entertainment_columnists/article/0,1406,KNS_360_5457610,00.html Schroder tenses up for '24' role] ] He cares more about his work than personal relationships. Mike and Milo clashed while working at CTU Denver, but despite this, Mike alters his co-worker's computer records to remove evidence that Milo compromised system security by giving red-flagged Nadia his clearance code so that she could continue her work at her usual efficiency rate.
It was also hinted at that Mike had a troubled life when he quoted a line from the
Qu'ran , and mentioned to Nadia that he also read "the Bible, theUpanishads ...anything [he] could get [his] hands on."Initially introduced as an abusive and rigid agent, Doyle changes to a more likable character throughout the season, due to his willingness to break from his own "By the book" attitude, to do what's considered to be right by the moral standards of the majority. Such examples are when Jack's in custody and Doyle uncuffs Jack, in order to have Jack restrain Doyle (so Jack could talk the doctor out of shock therapy that would have risked the life of Audrey Raines) and defying the orders of CTU Provisional head, Nadia Yassir, in stating that "No matter what it takes, as soon as possible, he'll get Josh Bauer back."
Appearances
=The character is introduced mid-season on Day 6 to serve as Director of Field Operations in the Los Angeles
Counter Terrorist Unit after the death ofCurtis Manning .At the end of Day 6, some romantic attraction is hinted at between
Nadia Yassir and Mike Doyle. A bomb explodes in the character's face and possibly blinds him.References
