John Thomas Griffith (born April 3) is an American
Singer-songwriter fromLouisiana . Best known as a guitarist and vocalist from the bandCowboy Mouth , in which he has been a member since 1990. John Thomas Griffith first established himself on the American music scene in the early 1980s as lead singer and guitarist for theRed Rockers , co-writing their 1983MTV hit "China".After leaving the band, in 1987 he released his first solo cd, "Son of an Engineer", re-released in 2000 on Laughing Gravy Music. Known by most music fans as 'JTG' or 'Griff', he is a founding member of the current rock band 'Cowboy Mouth'.
As a multi-instrumentalist, 'Aluminum' showcases his fun, yet quirky styles in both arrangements and showmanship.
In 1999, John Thomas Griffith was inducted into Buddy Magazine's Texas Guitar Hall of Fame, joining
Billy Gibbons ofZZTop , Eric Johnson and others.He currently is on tour with
Cowboy Mouth . When not touring, he resides inLos Angeles and scores motion picture soundtracks.Discography
