Music and Lyrics , performed byHugh Grant , as the singer from fictional eighties band "PoP!" While not credited on the track itself (in the movie's end credits), the second lead vocal performance is provided by the song's writer/composer,Andrew Wyatt . [From the "Music and Lyrics" Soundtrack CD booklet] In the end credits, "Pop! Goes My Heart" is credited to Alanna Vicente and A. Blakemore, which are both pseudonyms of Wyatt: he appears in the film as the guitarist in PoP! and is credited as Andrew Wyatt Blakemore - "Blakemore" possibly being a pun onRitchie Blackmore . In the film, the song is categorized as a hit from 1984. While the production is a mild parody, it is also a faithful attempt at recreation of the typical songs of the 1980s, including amusic video featuring imagery common to the era. The music video plays during the introduction of the film (as well as the beginning of the end credits), and features Grant andScott Porter . The video has also been used to "PoP Roll" unsuspecting co-workers."Pop! Goes My Heart" was released as a single in Germany in 2007.
