Background

Their first meeting was at the Hilltop Hotel, Huddersfield in August 2003 with current membership, as at July 2007, of 40. They hold regular meetings, usually held in pubs in towns throughout Yorkshire.

The basic aim of the group is to bring together exiled fans of Blackpool FC in Yorkshire for social gatherings; to arrange travel to home and away games to get together; to sponsor one Blackpool player each season and to award their own Player of the season at the clubs annual Presentation Night.

The Group regularly organise travel to both Blackpool Home games and Away games. Yorkshire Seasiders took 75 fans to Wembley Stadium For the League One Play-Off final in June 2007 against Yeovil Town.

They also organise a Yorkshire Seasiders Player of the Year Award, voted for by Group members from the Blackpool FC squad. For the 2005-06 season, the clubs goalkeeper, Lee Jones (now playing for Darlington F.C.) won the Award, which was presented at Blackpool FC's Annual Seasonal Awards Evening held at the clubs stadium, Bloomfield Road. For the 2006-07 season the winner was striker, Andy Morrell.cite web
