Glaðsheimr

In Norse mythology, Glaðsheimr (Old Norse "bright home"Orchard (1997:57).] ) is a realm in Asgard where Odin's hall of Valhalla is located according to "Grímnismál".

Snorri states in "Gylfaginning" that Glaðsheimr is a meeting hall, containing twelve high seats where the male Æsir hold council, located in Iðavöllr in Asgard, near the hall of Vingólf where the goddesses gathered.

In Popular Culture

Glaðsheimr is featured in Ragnarok Online as the dungeon of "Glast Heim". In the game, Glast Heim was once a city that had been destroyed by an unknown force, and is now infested with high levelled monsters. The church, sewers and basements of Glast Heim can all be accessed, and it is collectively the largest dungeon in the game.
