About Wood Acres
Wood Acres is an elementary school located in Bethesda, Maryland. It was first constructed in 1952, and has been renovated twice, once in 1975 and once in 2001. It feeds in to Thomas W. Pyle Middle School and Walt Whitman High School. The current principal is Marita Sherburne. 647 students learn at Wood Acres in grades Kindergarten - 5th.
Our Planetarium
Wood Acres is a unique school in many ways. One of those is the planetarium. Wood Acres received the planetarium as a gift from Brookmont Elementary, because Brookmont was closing down and many of the Brookmont students would go to Wood Acres.
