Flux (software)

Flux is a software suite released by Media Machines which consists of Flux Player and Flux Studio.

Flux Player is a VRML/X3D viewer that works both as plugin in Internet Explorer and Firefox, and as standalone program in Windows. Flux Studio is a VRML/X3D editor that works in Windows. Both programs supports Windows Me/2000 and higher.

Flux software is developed by Tony Parisi, who coworked with Mark Pesce on the development of the experimental VRML prototype called Labyrinth. Tony Parisi went on to develop and retail Intervista WorldView, a professional-class VRML browser, which introduced navigation bars. WorldView was too distributed on Microsoft's Windows 2000 and Office 2000 CDs as Microsoft VRML. Due to that inclusion, and due to common authorship, Tony Parisi's VRML/X3D line of software can be treated as directly related to default Microsoft's VRML software, as similarly Internet Explorer and FrontPage are default software for HTML in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office. Flux Studio can successfully import and export VRML/X3D files.
