Grammy Award winning Soul singerTina Turner . The song was released from Tina's 1999 "Twenty Four Seven" album. Its highest chart position was #11 in Finland. It was released as the second single from the "Twenty Four Seven" album, following hit single "When the Heartache Is Over". The singles released included live recordings of some of Turner's biggest hits from her 60th birthday celebration in London in November 1999, "The Best", "River Deep - Mountain High ", "What's Love Got to Do with It" and "Steamy Windows ", later released on the DVD "Celebrate! - 60th Birthday Special", some formats also included the "Whatever You Need" promo video.The music video features Tina walking through a tunnel in a leather jacket and jeans and then she sits on some steps singing and some teenagers stop what they are doing and sit with her, singing along.
Further tracks from the "Twenty Four Seven" album were released as singles, but only in select territories, among them "Don't Leave Me This Way" (#78 Germany), title track "Twenty Four Seven" (#45 Poland), "I Will Be There" (#45 Poland) and "Talk To My Heart" (#82 US R&B).
The song "Whatever You Need" should not be confused with the track "Whatever You Want" from Turner's 1996 album "
