The George-Anne Daily is the official student newspaper of Georgia Southern University. It was founded on April 12, 1927, but didn't become a daily newspaper until 2005. The paper places a large focus on campus news and sports, but as Georgia Southern has grown, a continued emphasis has been placed on issues and events in and around the town of Statesboro. The Southern Reflector is an entertainment and feature weekend edition that is published by the George-Anne Daily every Thursday. It emphasizes off campus events, weekly concerts, and other events and activities in Statesboro. The George-Anne Daily is published four days a week, Monday through Thursday during Fall and Spring semesters, with weekly editions published over GSU's first summer session of classes.

The George-Anne Daily is currently being labeled as the most censored college newspaper from its readership. History

The George-Anne was first published on April 12, 1927 and its name originates from Georgia Normal College and its transition from an agricultural teachers college to a coeducational institute of higher learning in the same year.

In 2009 the George Anne will become a weekly broadsheet newspaper.
