Belinda Jane Cordwell (born
September 21 ,1965 inWellington ) is a retired femaletennis player fromNew Zealand , who represented her native country at the 1988 Summer Olympics inSeoul, South Korea . There she lost in the first round of the women's singles competition to Great Britain'sSara Gomer . Cordwell won one title during her career, and reached her highest individual ranking on theWTA Tour onDecember 4 ,1989 , when she became the number seventeen of the world. Her most notable result was reaching the semifinals of theAustralian Open in 1989, where she lost toHelena Sukova .References
