- HBG Prangins
Swiss time reference system. The HBG
transmitter operates on 75 kHz with 20 kW and is located inPrangins , Switzerland. The time code is similar to theDCF77 system. At the beginning of each second (with the exception of the 59th), the
carrier signal is interrupted for a period of 0.1 s or 0.2 s, which corresponds to a binary "0" or "1". The transmission of the minute, hour, calendar date, day of the week, month and current year is achieved by means of aBCD code between the 21st and the 58th second. To be noted, the carrier is totally interrupted, not reduced to 25% of the full power as is the case forDCF77 The start of a new minute is signaled by a double pulse (0.1 s signal breaks at intervals of 0.1 s). A triple pulse signals the start of a new hour, a four-pulse signal is transmitted at 0 h and 12 h.
