Belukurichi is a small village located in Namakkal dt in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, India. The village is right bellow Kolli hills. The name Belukurichi has its root from 'Velavan Kurunji', meaning the land and hills that belong to Velavan [ Murugan ] known as Palaniyappar. The village has a population of about 10,000. The main occupation of the village is agriculture. The village has a public high school, a private school, public health center and police station. Indian postal Index code is [PIN] is 637402 and STD code 04286.

This place has a wonderful temple known as palaniappar temple.This is a place where LORD MURUGAN disguised himself to marry [VALLI] .This place has a history ,where a lot of kings visited this place. The idol of Lord Muruga in this temple is swayambu or said to have formed by its own. This idol has got a unique feature that Lord Muruga holds a rooster in his left hand though resting on his hip. He has also got a "pichuva katthi " (a hunter's dagger) in his waist band. This kind of a Muruga statue or idol holding a rooster is nowhere to be found in the world except this temple. The Lord is also depicted as wearing sandals in his feet which is another unique feature.

Also Belukurichi is Famous For Buying Cookery items like Mustard,Pulses,Turmeric,Garlic Etc in low price,Every Year by the month of February to May belukurichi Market will be opened for this.People From Various Places in tamilnadu will come for buying here.Market will be opened from friday Evening to Saturday Afternoon in that particular month.
