Syndie is an open source cross-platform computer application to syndicate data over a variety of anonymous and non-anonymous computer networks.

Features

Syndie can operate in a manner similar to blogs, newsgroups, forums, and other content tools; it provides for various uses of syndication, including combinations of publicly or privately accessible data, and one or multiple contributors to a syndicated repository. The repositories themselves may be syndicated over a combination of anonymous services (such as I2P, Tor, etc.), and non-anonymous services (such as WWW or Usenet archives). The program is designed to provide sufficient security across its features, so that it is worthwhile for a user to run it over an anonymized network.

Syndie can be used via the command line, with a graphical user interface under development.

Future development

Syndie is currently an alpha release. In addition to providing the graphical user interface, goals for the alpha development include supporting plaintext and HTML syndication to several types of repository including Freenet and HTTP. [http://syndie.i2p.net/roadmap.html] No expected release date is provided.

Plans for the beta release involve improving performance, as well as ensuring usable levels of functionality and accessibility. Again, no expected release date is provided.

Following on this, the 1.0 release is meant to offer finalized levels of the above as well as debugging and associated documentation.

The 2.0 release is meant to include peer-to-peer syndication, search capabilities, full database encryption, and other features. No release date is provided.
