Former congresswoman Marta Suplicy's bill project 1151 aims to change Brazilian federal law in order to establish same-sex civil unionsFact|date=February 2007. The bill had been pending in the House since 1995 and was the theme of the 2005 São Paulo Gay Pride ParadeFact|date=February 2007.
