The Minister of Finance of Nigeria is a senior cabinet official in the Nigerian Federal Executive Council. The Finance Minister's main responsibility is to manage the finances of the Nigerian treasury in a transparent, accountable and efficient manner to bolster the country's economic development priorities. The current Minister of Finance is Shamsuddeen Usman.
Appointment
The Minister of Finance is appointed by the President of Nigeria subject to the confirmation of the nomination by the Nigerian Senate.
