Aniseed twists

Aniseed twists

Aniseed Twists (sometimes confused with Cough Candy twists) are a type of boiled sweet commonly available in the UK. They have an aniseed flavour and are coloured red. There are several manufacturers including Bonds of London and Trebor and the precise flavors vary from very sharp aniseed to virtually none.

Aniseed Twists are often confused with Cough Candy Twists although the two are actually completely different sweets. While similar in appearance, Cough Candy Twists generally have a herbal/spice or even medicinal taste to them; hence, the term cough candy twist.
