Amuria District

Amuria District

Amuria is a district in the Eastern Region of Uganda. Amuria was part of Katakwi until the region received district status. It comprises two counties: Amuria and Kapelebyong. Ateso is the main language spoken. Amuria county has five sub-counties namely Wera, Kuju, Asamuk, Orungo and Abarilela. Kapelebyong county comprises two subcouties, Achowa and Kapelebyong sub-counties.
