William John Campbell

William John Campbell

William John Campbell was a Nigerian born mayor of Freetown, Sierra Leone. His family was a prominent one amongst the Krios in the early 1900s. His mother, Sarah Campbell was a Nigerian Egba. His brother John William Campbell (herbalist) was a herbalist at Connaught Hospital in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The Campbell family owned a large area in Freetown along Fourah Bay road called 'Fire burn' because it was such a large piece of land. William John Campbell's burial place is at the Racecourse Cemetery in Freetown.
